High definition is the future of television and now the prices are coming down you can actually buy an HD LCD TV for a cheap price.
The HD LCD TVs use a very high resolution and so the picture has allot more detail than it would in the old style televisions. This gives the picture a much better quality and makes a huge difference to almost anything that you watch, with HD the image on the screen seems life-like and real and everything seems very crisp and shiny. The HD LCD TVs have several different resolutions and the higher the number is the better the quality of the picture, there is also a letter after the number and this tells you if the picture is interlaced (i) or progressive (p) with the progressive HD resolutions offering a smoother picture quality as more detail is sent to the screen with every frame. So ideally you will want to buy the highest resolution that you can with a 'p' after the number as this will give you the best picture quality possible.
To view the HD quality you need an HD source and so you cannot expect your standard DVD player or standard television programmes to utilise the HD quality as they do not have a high enough resolution themselves to be shown in that resolution. And so you need an HD source such as an HD DVD player like the Blu Ray players or an HD television service like Sky HD as these are produced in the right resolution and will look simply amazing on a new HD LCD TV.
Items such as Blu Ray players and HD digital television are becoming the standard and so to enjoy this quality you need an HD television such as an HD LCD TV. The prices are becoming more favourable though and so there are some cheap deals available and they are well worth the money when you see your new HD LCD TV in action with an HD source such as an HD DVD as the quality is simply breath-taking.
